The Wayfinders Circle Website (this “Website”) is a project of The Pawanka Fund, The World Union of Indigenous Spiritual Practitioners (“WUISP”), and Nia Tero Foundation (“Nia Tero”) as initial conveners (the “Conveners” and “we”, “our” or “us”) in connection with The Wayfinders Circle (the “Wayfinders Circle”), a network dedicated to unleashing the transformative potential of Indigenous lifeways, inspiring all people to re-imagine development, conservation and the way they relate to each other and to Mother Earth.
Nia Tero is a US-based non-profit working in solidarity with Indigenous peoples and movements worldwide. Nia Tero provides lasting support to Indigenous peoples to protect their homelands from colonization and destruction, and shares Indigenous methods of care for the land with non-Indigenous communities. Nia Tero understands guardianship as Indigenous peoples’ right, capacity, and acceptance of responsibility to sustain vital natural systems within their collective territories.
The Pawanka Fund—which is an Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Learning Initiative—is committed to the concept of intercultural philanthropy, based on ancestral practices of solidarity and reciprocity of Indigenous Peoples. Intercultural Philanthropy builds from the knowledge that Indigenous Peoples have our own learning processes, systems of knowledge and ways to integrate new information, values, and interpretations and to share them with younger generations.
WUISP is an open voluntary alliance of Indigenous spiritual practitioners, shamans, healers, sacred sites guardians, cultural activists, holders of traditional Indigenous knowledge and values, Indigenous organizations and clans committed to working together with the common goal of achieving the mission and vision for protection of Mother Earth and strengthening of pristine ties human-nature- culture for the survival and wellbeing of generations to come.
Wayfinders Circle is a joint initiative of the Conveners for the purpose of amplifying Indigenous leadership that manifests a time-tested understanding of human responsibility to Mother Earth and to inspire strong courage for transformative actions to protect Mother Earth and the wellbeing of all life.
